A vast majority of patients who come to have their feet treated by a professional will be on some form of medication. As medicines work by inducing chemical reactions in the body, it is no surprise that there are many side effects associated with a patient’s medication. These side effects can be responsible for a lot of pathologies in patients and their feet, as well as masking other underlying problems. It is the aim of this workshop to provide a basic overview into the most common medicines being taken by patients and the reason why they are taking them. The workshop aims to outline the side effects of these medications and how they implicate podiatric practices.
